It's what makes...

...Up North well, Up North!
Actually it hasn't been too bad. They did scare us a bit with a forecast of 2 feet in 3 days but that didn't materialize, here anyway. It is kind of depressing to think that we still have over a week until the official start of Winter. Oh well, we'll cope and at least it looks like we are pretty much guaranteed a White Christmas!

A Whole Lot of Rakin'...

...NOT Going On!
Occupational hazard of living in the woods....lots of leaves! This blower seems like the answer but it's not that fun either.
The first one of you that remarks that I missed some gets a bag of leaves dumped in your yard. As you can see, we have plenty to spare.

Special Wishes!

Happy Birthday Leigh!!!

Born August 11, 1956!

It seems like just yesterday we left the basement after playing all morning with our Barbies while listening to the classic songs of the Monkees and walked up to Rexall's with a quarter each tucked into our pedal-pusher pockets. The toughest decision we had to make was whether or not the double addition of the Archie comic book was worth it (25 cents) or if we would be better off with 2 of the regular size (12 cents each) and using the remaining penny for a Lik-m-aid. As I recall, most of the time we did both and you shared your candy with me. What could show love more than that!?!

Hope you have a great day and thanks for making my life a treasure...Love you cuz!!

Crappy news

Some of you already know but I thought that I should get the word out. Luna has gone blind. She has SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Deterioration Syndrome--fancy name for a pretty mysterious condition). It comes on very suddenly without warning and is irreversible. Pretty depressing for all of us but we are learning to cope. She is navigating the house and yard pretty well but she counts on us to give her advance warning of obstacles. Guess we are her seeing eye people. She still loves to chase her ball (see the new one with a bell inside?) and go for walks so she is still enjoying a "dog's life". Just makes you realize how tenuous life is when things can change so quickly.
